Bob Popcorn turned into a game

The book series of Bob Popcorn feature the sweet, funny, but sometimes furious maize grain Bob. He can get so angry at times that he explodes, turning him into a big bad popcorn. Together with his girlfriend Ellis, he gets into adventures which have already been read by thousands of children. So it’s no wonder that these fans were wondering if they would ever see a game or movie about him. That’s how the book’s creators (author Maranke Rinck and illustrator Martijn van der Linden) were brought to five students at HKU Games. They granted Bob a digital life in an online adventure. Joppe Dekkers, one of the students involved, share the story behind the game.
