On this page you will find all information regarding the admission for a bachelor's program at HKU Utrechts Conservatorium, Classical Music. So read this page carefully!

Entrance Examination

The entrance exam consists of three parts:

  • Click HERE to download the questionnaire. Fill in the questionnaire and save the document in a PDF file. Use file name: surname.questionnaire.pdf

    Deadline and uploading questionnaire

    We kindly ask you to submit your questionnaire before the upload deadline mentioned in the email you received from us. You can upload the questionnaire via the UC upload tool. Look on this page under the heading 'Create account and upload questionnaire' for further instructions.

  • Before 1 March 2024 you will receive an email with more information about the theoretical entrance examination.

    The theoretical exam will be taken online by one of the theory teachers. The exam will take approximately 30 minutes. It consists of a general music theory test and a listening comprehension test.

    Please note:

    • If you are currently following the Preparatory Course at HKU Utrechts Conservatorium, the theoretical examination will take place during the lessons. The teacher will inform you about this in due time.
    • If you have an exemption for the theoretical examination, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail before 1 March.

  • The practice admissions will take place between 2 and 12 April 2024 on location in Utrecht. On the website of HKU Utrechts Conservatorium Classical Music, under Application and admission, you will find the admission dates per instrument. Click HERE to go to this website.

    You will receive an e-mail no later than 15 March 2024 with more information about the practical entrance examination.

    Exception Carillon
    The practical entrance exam for the Carillon will take place on 18 June 2024 in Amersfoort. The candidates who have apply for this instrument will receive a separate invitation for the practical entrance exam.

    Admission assignment practical entrance examination
    For the practical entrance exam, you need to prepare an assignment in advance. Below the different assignments per instrument.

Comments Admission

If you have not uploaded a questionnaire before the deadline, we will conclude that you do no longer want to partake in the admission and your entrance examination will end.

No admission

If you want to cancel the entrance examination, you can withdraw your application request by Studielink.
