The work
Twins is both an art-based research project and a performance. It investigates the scenographic context's influence on embodied simulation. In the exhibition, it is presented through a performance space and a research space. You can translate your bodily experience of each scene into an abstract clay form, and become the analyser by watching and feeling into other participants' clay translations. My thesis consists of two parts: The first is the research report named "Perception in scenographic context: Twins – Clay as a medium for embodied simulation". It describes Twins as a case study. Its aim is to contribute to the interdisciplinary discussion on embodied simulation in art perception. The second is called "Behind the scenes". By approaching the project Twins as a creative process, it complements the first part. It is both a documentation and repository of tools.
