City of Utrecht compensation payments
The local government of Utrecht has made a recovery fund available for the HKU alumni who graduated during the difficult corona years. This fund is meant to stimulate their professional development by offering the opportunity to start projects that bring the graduated students in touch with the professional field.
Four schools of HKU, Fine Art, Utrechts Conservatorium, Theatre, and Design, have formed their own programmes for their graduates. For this, they entered partnerships with various organisations in the city. One example is the art route in Museum Speelklok and the Library at Neude. In cooperation with Het Huis Utrecht, an artistic research project was started for alumni from HKU Theatre. The recovery funds were also used to start open calls, coaching tracks, lectures and network meetings.
Most notable is the HKU-wide Pitch Your Project fund, where graduates from all HKU courses could pitch their projects. This has led to the realisation of 22 projects, such as a card game that addresses sexual intimidation and a climate wall to create awareness among children.
