Emerging Research

Emerging research is the area in which HKU can conduct research that goes beyond the regular research areas.

What we do

HKU works with specific research themes, but what happens if a question, theme or application area arises during the study that doesn’t fit any of the five current research themes?

This is the role of Emerging Research, which provides space to accommodate unforeseen issues and developments. It allows HKU to respond quickly to relevant developments that don’t fit easily into the existing research areas.
