‘Art knows no boundaries’, Jumelet spoke enthusiastically. ‘Embracing a diversity of perspectives within and outside HKU is very valuable. I call upon you to share and show your experiences as broadly as possible: expanding your horizon enriches your creatorship and contributes to the betterment of society.’
About the Holland Scholarship
The Holland Scholarship is intended as an incentive to study in the Netherlands for international talent from outside the European Economic Region (EU countries plus Liechtenstein, Norway and Iceland). It is targeted at students who haven’t yet obtained any prior degree in the Netherlands. The international students are selected by the involved schools and receive a grant sum of 5000 euros. On the other hand, the Holland Scholarship also stimulates students at Dutch academies or universities to do a part of their studies in another (non-EER) country. The grant is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, along with Dutch institutions for higher education, including HKU.
The Dutch students going abroad are selected by a mini commission of the internationalisation portfolio holder and/or international coordinator, and a tutor, lecturer or former recipient of the grant. Their study grant comes with a sum of 1250 euros.
