David Claerbout, one of the most sought-after and prominent artists of today, is coming to HKU to give a presentation especially for students and employees of HKU.

His latest work, Backwards Growing Tree, is now on display in Centraal Museum Utrecht. In the work, Claerbout takes you along on the journey of a lonely tree. He observed the tree's development over five years time and virtually reconstructed it in reverse order. The tree is growing back in time and will eventually disappear into the earth again.

Don't miss this unique chance to explore the boundaries of time and reality and be inspired by the reflections of David Claerbout. HKU Executive Board member Edwin Jacobs will give a brief introduction to the presentation.  

Language: Dutch. When English-speaking visitors are present, the lecture will be in English.
