Be Prepared!

Early April is the time of the admissions for Jazz & Pop at HKU Utrechts Conservatorium. Doing the admission is often stressful, in part because you don’t exactly what to expect during that day. For this reason, HKU Utrechts Conservatorium organises a short training for aspiring talents who are working on their admission: Be Prepared!

What will you be doing?

You get classes from higher-year Jazz & Pop students under the guidance of their teachers. They can help you with questions and anything else you need to excel during your admission test.

Some questions that will be addressed:

What happens exactly during the admission test?
What is expected from me?
What’s it like to be a student at HKU Utrechts Conservatorium?

You will play together with other participants and with students; improvising, hearing tips & tricks, explanations about music theory, exercises and room to ask all your questions.

What do you get from it?

After the training, you know what will be expected from you and what you can expect during the admission. In that way, you are more capable of working independently on preparing for your admission.

For whom?

You can apply for the training as a bassist, drummer, pianist, guitarist, string player, vocalist or brass player.

Dates of the training classes:

The training consists of 4 sessions of 3 hours:

Thu 5 December 2024: 15.45-19.15 hrs
Thu 12 December 2024: 15.45-19.15 hrs
Thu 19 December 2024: 15.45-19.15 hrs
Thu 16 January 2025: 16.15-20.00 hrs

Participation costs € 50,00 per person.

Here you can sign up for Be Prepared!. Sign up on Monday 25 November the latest. Based on all applications, we will first make a selection. If you are selected we will send you a payment link. Once your payment has been processed, your registration is final and you will receive all practical information about the day.
Please note: In case you are not selected, you can not partake in the course!
