Pre-selection Drums, Guitar, Piano and Voice Jazz & Pop

Admission

On this page you can read about the process of the pre-selection Drums, Guitar, Piano and Voice Jazz & Pop.

Pre-selection

The admission committee will make a pre-selection from the candidates. The committee asks you to fill in a questionnaire and make a short film clip.

  • Click HERE to download the questionnaire. Fill in the questionnaire and save the document in a PDF file. Use file name: surname.questionnaire.pdf

  • Make a short film clip (maximum 7 minutes) in which you show as much of your playing and musical passion as possible. You can post your film on YouTube or Vimeo and upload the links afterwards.

    When recording your clip, please take account of the following:

    • Come to the point as quickly as possible;
    • no long solos by fellow musicians: it's all about your playing;
    • do not play existing, complicated arrangements, as they show little of yourself;
    • show off your strengths: own pieces, improvisation or anything that demonstrates your musicality and creativity;
    • record a film clip with a live band;
    • think about contrasting styles and thythms.

    On the basis of the entries, the admissions committee (consisting of course teachers) will decide who is invited to the live audition.

  • Make a short film clip (maximum 7 minutes) in which you show as much of your playing and musical passion as possible. One of the pieces you play will be an assignment. You will find a link to the backing track (in different keys) and the lyrics in the instructions. The other song you play is your choice. We would appreciate it if that is in a completely different style.
